Copywriting
Copywriting is the advertising copy that you use on your website, in your emails, in your ads (online or offline) or in your video script.
A little known (or understood) fact about internet marketing is that copy – and good copy – can make an amazing difference to the sucess of your internet marketing campaigns becuase those words are the center of your connection to your customer.
There are 2 main ways to get copy written : write it yourself, or get someone else to.
While ‘outsourcing’ your copywriting might seem like the easiest thing to do (as many of us don’t consider ourselves writers), it is worth investigating what a high quality copywriting course can do for you first. Becoming dependent on a copywriter is not something any internet marketer wants to do – and even if you do decide to ‘outsource’ this task, if you don’t know what good copy looks like, you may be taken for a ride.
Some copywriting tools available to you to improve your copywriting:
- Free ebooks / websites etc
- Search under ‘copywriting’ and there is tonne of information. I personally like John Carlton. He is a veteran copywriter and has a great (free) blog willed with useful advice on copywriting
- Courses
- Invest in a course when you are ready to build some skills. The free tips etc will only get you so far, but they are a good place to start if you are completely new.
- Once you have started to realise the value to your business of ‘good copy’, its time to take the plunge and invest in a reputable course that includes workbooks, preferably video and a support forum.
- One on One Coaching
- Courses are a ’step up’ in learning and skill building from free e-books, the best and fastest way to get really good at writing copy is to learn directly from someone who is already really good.
- Opportunities don’t come up that often, so check back here if you are interested as I will update this page when there are offers out there.
