Autoresponders

Autoresponders are tools which allow you to manage subscribers to your list.  They include the following features :

• A Process for confirming Opt-In and providing and Opt Out of your list (this is necessary to comply with CAN-SPAM Act)
• Follow up messages that can be sent in a series, or as a once-off broadcast
• Reporting on people in / out of your list and where they came from
• Ability to build a web form for people to click on to join your list
• More sophisticated versions include being able to move people from one list to another when they purchase

You can acheive most of these features using a standard email program – however – using an autoresponder gives you time and location independence (ie you don’t have to be awake and at your PC to send people your information!)
